CHAPTER EIGHT

LIV DROPPED BACK on her pillow, trying to catch her breath, trying not to think how embarrassing it would be to die in a foreign hotel room of too much sex. She glanced across at Adam, who had hit the pillow next to her, his skin shiny from sweat, chest heaving as he tried to catch his breath.

‘I need some air,’ Liv said, pulling the sheet off her bed and wrapping it around her as she crossed to the curtains and the balcony beyond. She drew back the drapes and gasped. She’d somehow forgotten that she’d selected this room for its view. The light show from the Eiffel Tower spilt into the room and she followed its path to her bed, where Adam was stretched out, entirely unabashed by the fact that her theft of the sheet had left him naked. He’d stretched one arm up behind his head, and, despite the hours they had just spent in her bed, there was still heat in his eyes.

‘I’m starving,’ she said, and Adam smirked. She rolled her eyes. ‘For food,’ she clarified, whacking him on the chest. ‘Don’t be so predictable. I need to eat something.’

‘Room service?’ Adam asked as she stepped back towards the bed.

‘I don’t trust you not to get distracted,’ she replied, finding a robe on the back of the bathroom door and throwing it at him. ‘Put some clothes on,’ she told him, and then stepped back in the bathroom to turn on the shower. ‘I’m taking you out for dinner.’
